This policy explains what information Empire Mapping collects on our website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

When you use our contact form, we collect what you type in: your name, your email address, your phone number (optional), the address of your project site, and your message.

Please don't put sensitive information in the form, such as Social Security numbers or bank or card numbers.

When you visit our website, our website host, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address, your browser type, and the time of your visit. This is needed to deliver the site to you and keep it secure.

Fonts: Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser loads a page, it connects to Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), which receive your IP address and browser information.

Email address protection: Cloudflare also loads a small script on our pages that hides the email addresses shown on the site from automated programs ("bots") that collect addresses for spam, while keeping them visible to people.

Website analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our site, such as which pages are visited. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information like your IP address, device and browser, and the pages you view. Google may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites. You can opt out at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

How we use it

We use the information you send through the contact form only to respond to your inquiry, for example to answer your question or give you a quote. We don't use it to send you marketing emails.

How your message reaches us

When you press send, our website sends your form entries to us as one email, through an email delivery service called Resend, to [email protected]. When we reply, the reply goes to the email address you entered.

Our website does not save your form entries in a database or file. The website's own logs record only technical information, such as whether a message was sent or failed. They don't contain your name, email address, or message.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone for their marketing.

We share it only with service providers that help us run the website and deliver your message:

• PorchLoom, the company that builds and runs our website for us. PorchLoom does not keep a copy of your message.
• Resend, which delivers form messages by email for PorchLoom. Resend keeps a record of each email it sends, including its content, for a limited time (see below).
• Cloudflare, our website host.
• Google, for Google Analytics and Google Fonts.

We may also share information if the law requires it, for example because of a subpoena or court order.

How long we keep it

• Our inbox: we keep inquiry emails as long as we need them to handle your inquiry and for our normal business records.
• Resend: Resend keeps sent emails, including their content, and delivery records for about 30 days, under its current published policy.
• Google Analytics: Google keeps analytics data for the period set in our Google Analytics settings.

Cookies and "Do Not Track"

Our website uses cookies only for Google Analytics, described above.

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Our website doesn't currently respond to Do Not Track signals. Google Analytics may collect information about your online activity over time and across websites.

Your choices

You can email [email protected] to ask us to see, correct, or delete the information you sent us. We'll reply by email.

Children

Our website is for adults and businesses. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information you send us. No method of sending or storing information online is 100% secure.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top.
